Cover Crops:

The avocado fields will be intercropped with ginger, garlic, cowpeas, chilli, ground nuts and other beneficial herbs and vegetables. The field border lines will be planted with pigeon peas and moringa trees not only as wind breakers but to be utilized for mulching and nutrition in the case of pigeon peas, and herbal nutrition for moringa, as well as carbon sequestration. Cover crops and wind breakers would also be important for human, animal and chicken nutrition as well as diversification of income streams.
